With Halloween drawing nearer by each faint breath, and the rising anticipation of sheer terror around the corner...I though I would take this opportunity to find out what all of your deepest, darkest fears are...
Could it possibly be caused by some urban legend that has persisted through time??
Or by some psychological trauma to your psyche brought on by a trip to the circus gone horribly wrong???
Perhaps you share a common fear with millions of people around the world...maybe the fear of those terrifying 8-legged monsters that seem to appear out of nowhere???
..or of members of the undead legions that stalk the night in search of fresh human blood to quench their neverending thirst???
...or by the ones that just want to eat your brains...
Of course...it you could just fear those things that go "bump" in the night while you are out camping in the middle of nowhere...
Whatever it is...leave me a comment here, telling me of those things that send shivers to your core and paralyze you with fear.
You never know...maybe if enough of you answer...I will tell you mine...
One thing that really freaks me out is the thought of abduction by Extra-Terrestrials. When I was younger (15 or 16) I read all the books I could find on E.T.'s including "Communion" and all the Whitley Strieber books. I started to have VIVID dreams about being abducted and would wake up in cold sweats. I started to think that maybe I had been taken hostage by the Greys at some point, which would explain my fascination and fear of them.
The kicker came when I began reading "Talking to Extra-Terrestrials" by Lisette Larkins. She claims in the book that you can "conjur" an experience by following the instructions in her book. Let me tell you this: I had to abandon the book altogether after about a week of reading as I began being awakened by flashing lights and loud BANGs in my room at night, all of which only I saw/heard... the wife would be sleeping soundly next to me, none the wiser. It was after a few nights of this that I gave up my quest for an experience as apparently I'm not ready for that....
I would say out of all the horor things I've sen, I would say I fear the stupid people the most... In every horror movie, the people do the dumbest things when they want to survive. In Dawn of the Dead they could have just created a garden on the top of the mall and go about normally, in the Chucky movies it's a freaking doll just tear it to pieces, in Jeepers Creepers they kill at and it's supposed to come to life in 20 years... well chop the damn thing into bits and make sure it can't get back together!.... But if I had to choose a real fear I'd say being in thick brush and hear something big moving around really close but never seeing it, specially if it sounds like it gets closer.
i think the thing i fear most is to wake up some night to a man in a ski mask standing over me with a gun in my face who then puts a bullet in me which doesn't kill me. Then two or three months down the road i come out of my coma to find out that the fu@ker saved me for last and im the only one to survive...guess the worst part of that is that this really could happen to any of us with out a question.
